Mozhi - Movie Review

Caught the movie with a few friends of mine. Wonderful Wonderful movie.

Really touching. The movie was along the lines of Black(Hindi). Prakashraj has done an excellent job at comedy. Very spontaneous and very ingenius. The story is packed with powerful dialogue delivery. Down to earth and simple characters. Nothing that is out of the world.

On the whole a very good movie to watch. The hero, I am not sure of his name, is a good fit for the role. Songs are pretty good....very nice lyrics...especially the "Kaatrin Mozhi" song...

As such there is no designated comedian for the movie, but I feel there is no need with Prakashraj doing an excellent job at it. "Mutta kanni" Jo has done a very decent role. No "thoppul la" pambaram stuff. Basically a family movie. I think not many movies are watchable by 7-70 year olds together these days. This would be one such movie which you can see with your kid without getting embarassed.

But the sad thing about all these movies is that they continously keep "Love" (the I cannot live without you kinds) as the theme. Its like, watch a Chinese movie and you get a Kung Fu student whose father or master was murdered by a "Smoke Monkey" using his "Dragon Claws", and our hero, the student uses "Tiger Claws" to defeat him. Watch an Indian movie, and you have a hero running after the heroine. Some songs in exotic locales from Europe to Australia. Some stupid comedian gets beaten up and makes people laugh at it. Some fight scenes where the heroine's dad's bodyguards get their butt kicked by the hero. Very typical.

Very rarely do we see some new concepts. Even hollywood movies, especially the sci fi ones, have all this guey jooey aliens who ooze some kinda white or green liquid and have horrible faces. My God, can't humans atleast create an Alien who looks good? I guess only God can create beautiful creatures. When man tries to do the same, he ends up messing it.

Anyways, the movie gets a 8/10 from me. Worth the watch in theatres. No thiruttu VCD please. :)
