World Cup Cricket - 2007

The World Cup Cricket has kicked off with a West Indian Win (I wanted them to win as they were the home team, and I somehow like to see West Indies lift the cup if it is not going to be India).

This is the first time there is a World Cup in which every participating team stand an almost equal chance.

Australia just coming after a set of defeats in the hands of England and New Zealand, are not the clear favourites like they were last year (also a lot of their players down with injuries). I donno why I donot support Australia. Maybe because I have this tendency to not take the side of the strongest team :)....

SA is yet to win a world cup and it would be my third favourite to do it this time.

India has perhaps the best chance to do it this year. This is not because this team is the strongest of all (I still feel the last world cup team was stronger), I feel that they stand a better chance this year because the other teams are much weaker than their earlier World Cup teams.

Coming to think of it, almost all teams this year are not in the pink of their health. I wouldve much rather preferred a world cup without injury affected teams.

Ok enough about cricket...I am not the greatest fan of cricket...just a casual watcher :)...but of course want India to win! :)
